Women Day Celebrations
Govt. M.A.M College celebrates International Women’s Day
A two day programme was conducted in Govt. M.A.M College to commemorate International Women’s Day. A slogan writing competition was held on 5th March wherein students show cased their creative and intellectual ideas in a mesmerising and colourful display. On 6th March a symposia competition on the theme “An Equal World is an Enabled World was also conducted. The young learners’ expressed their ideas on the need for creating a Gender Sensitised Society and an Inclusive World where both the sexes are treated equally. Prof. (Dr.) G.S.Rakwal, Principal of the college was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He exhorted the students to participate in such meaningful activities so that they can become the torch bearers of an Equal Society which respects everyone, irrespective of their Caste, Creed and Gender. He reiterated that nearly half of the population of the World comprised of Women and a country can develop and progress only if all the stake holders, men and women are given due representation in all the sectors. Dr. Jasvinder Singh, Prof. Kuldeep Singh and Dr. Reena Salaria adjudicated the Slogan Writing Competition while Prof. Meenakshi Thakur, Prof. Deepti Gupta, Dr. Indu Khajuria and Dr. Eva Sharma were the jury members for the symposia competition. Dr. Banpreet Kour, Associate Professor coordinated the event with student coordinator Abhinandan Dheiman. Shikhar, Sharik Bashir and Akshit bagged 1st 2nd and 3rd position in the symposia competition while Nainika Kaith, Gurpreet Kour and Pankaj Kumar clinched the 1st 2nd and 3rd position in Slogan writing competition.
